Ivanišević on Novak’s Defeat in Melbourne
1 min readCelebrated Croatian tennis player and current coach of Novak Djokovic, Goran Ivanisevic, spoke about the reasons for the elimination of the Serbian ace in the semifinals of this year’s Australian Open. The ten-time champion of the popular “Aussie Open” failed to defend his title in Melbourne.
“It’s a shame that it happened this way, but against Sinner, if you’re not at 100 percent, you don’t stand a chance. Even when you are at 100 percent, you can still lose.
However, the entire Australian Open wasn’t quite right for Novak, from the first round onwards. But, we move on, nothing is so tragic,” said Ivanisevic.
He also commented on the problems Djokovic had with his wrist. “No, it didn’t bother him, he was healthy, but it just didn’t go well…
It can happen to him too, he’s human. On the other hand, if he had to lose to someone, then I’m glad it was Sinner,” said the Croatian.
