Ivanišević on Novak’s Defeat in Melbourne

1 min read

Renowned Croatian tennis player and current coach of Novak Djokovic, Goran Ivanisevic, spoke about the reasons for the elimination of the Serbian ace in the semi-finals of this year’s Australian Open. The ten-time champion of the popular “Aus Open” failed to defend his title in Melbourne. “It’s a shame that it happened this way, but against Sinner, if you’re not at 100%, you have nothing to look for. Even when you are at 100%, you can still lose,” said Ivanisevic.

“However, the entire Australian Open wasn’t right for Novak, from the first round onwards. But, let’s move on, nothing is so tragic,” Ivanišević said. He also mentioned the problems Djokovic had with his wrist. “No, it didn’t bother him, he was healthy, but it just didn’t go…

It can happen to him, too, and he’s only human. On the other hand, if he had to lose to someone, then I’m glad it was Sinner,” said the Croatian coach.
