The Premier League matchup saw Arsenal close in to two points behind in the championship race. Arsenal took the lead through Saka in the 7th minute but was equalized by Gabriel’s own goal in added time of the first half.
Gabrijel Martinelli then gave the home team a 2-1 lead in the 67th minute, taking advantage of a misunderstanding between goalkeeper Alisson and defender Virgil van Dijk. The final score was set by Leandro Trossard in added time of the second half.
With their third consecutive victory and 15th in total in the league, Arsenal is now second in the table with 49 points, trailing leaders Liverpool by two points. Jürgen Klopp’s team suffered their second league defeat.
Current champion Manchester City is third with 46 points, but has two games in hand over Liverpool and Arsenal.
