Red Star Belgrade Sells Jovan Mijatović
2 min readRed Star Belgrade will earn 10,000,000 euros from the transfer and will keep 15 percent from the next sale. Jovan Mijatović (18) will stay in America and play in the MLS league for the next six months. In the U.S., the rules are not the same as in Europe, so a footballer can change to a third team during one season.
This means that depending on his performances, Jovan Mijatović could come to a team led by Pep Guardiola in the summer. He could stay in America or come to Europe, to one of the clubs that are members of the City Group. Let’s remind you that the holding company “City Football Group,” founded by Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed, was established in 2013 and owns a large number of clubs around the world – Manchester City in England, New York City in the U.S., Melbourne City in Australia, Montevideo City in Uruguay, Girona in Spain, Mumbai City in India, Lommel in Belgium, Troyes in France, Palermo in Italy, and Bahia in Brazil.
Jovan has scored several important goals in the Superliga and impressed in the Champions League matches, as well as in the jersey of the Serbian youth national team, when he scored a spectacular goal in a friendly match against Italy. Jovan Mijatović is expected to make his debut for New York City on February 22, when the MLS season begins. In the light blue jersey, he could play against the Charlotte team.
Jovan Mijatović’s transfer to New York City is a record for an American club, as they have never before spent so much money on bringing in a footballer.
