Algerian footballer moves to Lyon, a day after loan deal falls through

Algerian footballer has moved to Lyon, a day after a loan deal collapsed due to administrative reasons. The French club lodged a complaint with the International Football Federation (FIFA), which announced that it had accepted the documentation. Benrahma has moved to Lyon for £5.1 million until the end of the season, with an option to buy the contract for £12.3 million and 10% of the next sale. FIFA has accepted the requested international transfer certificate, and the Football Associations of England and France have confirmed the transfer.

Lyon accused West Ham of disrespect on Thursday for not entering the data online after the deal collapsed due to administrator issues. Lyon then stated that the London club had not completed any of the necessary technical procedures on the platform designated by FIFA – the International Transfer Matching System, despite repeated requests from Lyon. Benrahma moved from Brentford to West Ham in 2020 and has played 146 matches and scored 24 goals. He has a contract with the London club until 2026.
