Kecmanović overwhelmed as Alkaras advances convincingly to the quarterfinals!

1 min read

Karlos Alkaras, the second-ranked tennis player in the world, played an excellent match against Miomir Kecmanović, leaving him with no chance of winning. Alcaraz broke Kecmanović’s serve in the third game of the first set and managed to maintain his advantage until the end, winning the set 6-4 and taking a 1-0 lead. In the second set, Kecmanović put up a bit more resistance, but Alcaraz broke his serve in the seventh game. Once again, Alcaraz comfortably held onto his lead, winning the set 6-4. In the third set, Kecmanović completely fell apart and failed to win a single game. Alcaraz broke his serve three times and won the set 6-0, securing an important victory. Overall, it was a great tournament for Kecmanović, reaching the round of 16, especially considering that he did not have any wins in the four Grand Slam tournaments last year. We had hoped that he could surprise Alcaraz, but the Spaniard showed that he is currently a much higher-quality player than Kecmanović and deservedly advanced to the quarterfinals.
