King of the masters after 5 years at 1st master of the season, confirmation from America

First on the ATP list and the greatest tennis player of all time, Novak Djoković recently revealed that he will finally participate in the first Masters of the season, Indian Wells. Now, the official confirmation has arrived from the tournament organizers. “Welcome back!

Djoković will compete in Indian Wells for the first time since 2019,” the tournament announced on Twitter. Novak has won Indian Wells five times, just like Roger Federer, and the two of them are the most successful players in this tournament. In his last appearance at this tournament in 2019, Djoković lost in the third round to Philipp Kohlschreiber.

Indian Wells is scheduled from March 6th to 17th. The Serbian does not defend any points in the upcoming period, while Alcaraz defends 550 points until Indian Wells. If he wins the tournament, Novak would strengthen his first place on the ATP list.

He is currently 600 points ahead of Alcaraz. Medvedev defends the title in Dubai, so Djoković is safe there.
