Serbia is losing 0-2 to Slovakia after the first day of competition in the Davis Cup qualifiers in Kraljevo. In the first match today, Miomir Kecmanović lost to Lukáš Klein 6-7, 6-2, while in the second duel, Dušan Lajović lost to Alex Molčan 6-4, 2-6, 0-6. Kecmanović stated that he was not at the level deserving of the audience. “Simply, in crucial moments, the opponent hit everything, which I did not expect, and I suffered a defeat,” said Lajović.

“I will never give up, so I will not do it now. I will try to convey to the players to show that fighting spirit tomorrow, to show that they have it and to try to turn the game around. I am disappointed that it’s 2-0 for the opponent in front of our audience. But we have no room for combination, and I believe Kecmanović and Lajović can do better than what they showed today,” said Troicki, as reported by the Tennis Association.

Lajović said his team can turn the match around, which is played to three victories. “Tomorrow is a new day, and I believe we can turn everything around, even though it’s 2-0 for the opponent,” Lajović added. The doubles match begins on Saturday at 1 pm, followed by two singles matches.
